The Benedictine University volleyball team split in the opening day of the Augustana College Viking Classic. The Eagles fell to host Augustana but beat Knox College on Friday night in three sets.

Beckie Whitmarsh  collected six kills and four digs in the 25-23, 25-15, 25-15 loss to Augustana in game one. Kristi Naylon  recorded six kills and Keriann Groen had five kills and four blocks.

In game two, the Eagles defeated Knox 25-22, 25-16 and 25-13.  Abby Screnock  had 20 assists while  Andraia Leja  recorded 16 digs and  Ashley Karsten  and Groen each tallied six kills. Whitmarsh had seven kills.

Benedictine continues play in the Viking Classic on Saturday morning when they take on Hamline University at 10:00 am and University of Wisconsin-River Falls at 2:00 pm.
