MADISON, Wis. - The Benedictine University women's soccer team dropped a 4-1 decision at Edgewood on Saturday night.
Benedictine defended well early and recorded the first shot of the game when an opportunity from
Rachael Hodison, as a result of a corner kick, was blocked late in the 11th minute. Edgewood converted the first shot on goal of the contest in the 20th minute. Benedictine countered quickly but could not even the game.
Edgewood tacked on three quick goals in the second half following another block on a Hodison attempt to nab a 4-0 edge. The lone Benedictine tally came as time was winding down. After drawing a foul in the box,
Danielle Melotte converted on a penalty kick for her third goal of the year. Benedictine finished with seven shots in the contest, three from Hodison.
Maddie Frye halted three shots in goal.
Benedictine (2-8-1) returns home next Saturday to face Concordia University Wisconsin.
