MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Benedictine University women's soccer team inched closer to a conference tournament bid by tallying a 7-0 shutout of Alverno College on the road Wednesday afternoon.

THE DETAILS
• Five different individuals scored for Benedictine
• Benedictine scored twice in the first half but was able to run away with five second half finders
• Taylor Pokorny opened the scoring in the 10th minute on a pass from Miki Winkler to the left sideline
• Jackie Elzakhem won a one-on-one battle to tally the second goal in the 29th minute
• Pokorny was active in the second half, adding a second goal along with a pair of assists
• Megan Anderson scored twice in the second half as well

FROM THE COACH
"We were happy with the result, especially with the performance in the second half," said head coach Mike Boland. "It was nice to see different individuals step up. All year we have been scoring goals by committee, and I anticipate that will continue."

STAT LEADERS
• Benedictine allowed just a single shot from Alverno in the contest, holding a 33-1 advantage
• Pokorny led Benedictine with eight shots including seven on goal while Anderson, Elzakhem, and Daniela Nieto each posted four
• 13 individuals collected at least one shot in the contest
• Benedictine also posted 12 corner kicks in the game
• Anderson and Pokorny each scored twice
• Winkler tallied a pair of assists
