SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - The Benedictine University women's soccer team improved to 3-1 in conference play this season with a 2-1 win over Lakeland College on Saturday.

• Taylor Pokorny scored two goals in the first half, less than a minute apart, to account for the Benedictine goals
• The first goal came in the 19th minute on a feed from
Miki Winkler• The second came in the 20th minute when
Zoie Holloway provided the helper
• Lakeland's only goal came on a penalty kick in the 67th minute
• Maddie Frye made a save in the closing moments to preserve the victory. Lakeland also hit a crossbar in the final 10 minutes
• The win allowed Benedictine to surpass last season's conference win total

Mike Boland said. "Lakeland is a tough place to play, as we have to get up for the task at hand, manufacture environment, and bring the right mentality. All focus now is on a big one against Concordia Wisconsin on Wednesday."
