Volleyball Falls in NACC Quarterfinals

MEQUON, Wis.- The Benedictine University women's volleyball team ended the 2015 season after falling to Concordia University-Wisconsin in three sets in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference first round on Tuesday night. The Eagles entered the match as the No. 6 seed while CUW was the No. 3 seed.

No. 6 Benedictine 0, No. 3 Concordia-Wisconsin 3 (15-25, 16-25, 27-29)

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine took a 3-0 lead to start the first set but the Concordia-Wisconsin offense responded to gain a 9-6 advantage. The Falcons went on a 5-0 run to go up 14-6 and never looked back, winning 25-15
• Trailing early, the Eagles allowed CUW to go on a 10-2 run and take a 22-10 lead. Benedictine could not respond, falling 25-16
• Benedictine once again trailed early but took a 21-18 lead in the third set after an Ashley Karsten kill. With the set tied at 24, both teams battled but CUW won the set on two BenU errors, 29-27
• The match only saw 10 ties and five lead changes
• Benedictine tallied a season low one block in the match

STAT LEADERS
• Erin Wiegand led the Eagles with eight kills
• Keriann Groen tallied four kills
• Defensively, Kristina Billie recorded 22 digs and once ace
• Kelcey Adams had 21 assists and two aces
• As a team, the Ealges tallied 23 kills and 42 digs

END OF THE SEASON
The women's volleyball team ends the season with a 12-19 overall record.
