The Benedictine University men's volleyball team concluded the inaugural season with a loss at #13 Milwaukee School of Engineering on Wednesday night.
The first set saw MSOE (17-11, 8-6 MCVL) tally 13 kills and take an early lead. Benedictine tied the set and traded points until the Raiders scored the final four points of the set to win 25-18.
Benedictine tied the second set at eight, then again at 18. The Raiders took the momentum on a kill and never looked back, winning 25-21. The third set was extremely close with BenU never trailing by more than two points. MSOE's 15 kills was too much for the Eagles to handle down the stretch, as they went on to win 25-21.
As a team, the Eagles tallied 26 kills and 32 dig and were led by
Sterling Glover with eight kills followed by
John Mathews with seven kills.
Markus Riemer led the team with 22 assists and nine digs while
Ian Thompson had seven digs.
Benedictine men's volleyball and first year head coach
Dan Buehring ended the 2015 season with a 7-16 overall record and a 4-10 mark in the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League.
