FULL RESULTSThe Benedictine University men's track and field team hosted the Eagle Invitational on Saturday at the Village of Lisle/Benedictine University Sports Complex. BenU placed in a tie for eighth in a large field.
BenU had a bevy of strong competitiors in both the track and field events. In the throws, the Eagles saw several Top 10 finishes, as
Joe DeMaegd (fourth place in hammer, fourth place in javelin, tenth place in discus),
Eric Kenebrew (sixth place in hammer, eighth place in discus), and
Ryley Martin (tenth place in javelin) all made the leaderboards. In addition,
Billy Sipek placed fifth in the high jump at 1.95m.
On the track,
Omar Lopez had a breakout perfromance in the 110m hurdles, placing sixth at 15.50s.
Zach Aloff placed 14th in the same event (16.60s), while also placing 10th in the 400m hurdles at 58.73s. Lopez also placed 18th in the 200m, while Martin (39th in the 100m) and
Mitchell Tuthill (19th in the 400m) also performed well in the sprint events.
In the distance runs,
Chris Dziagwa placed sixth in the 800m at 1:54.87. Both
Joe Chavez and
Andrew Guibord put together strong showings in the 1500m, placing 21st and 43rd respectivley.
BenU is back in action on Saturday, March 18 at Wheaton College at 11:00 a.m.
