The Benedictine University women's track and field team competed at the Don Church Invitational at Wheaton College on Saturday. BenU place eighth in the event.
Megan Malone put together one of the best meets of her collegiate career. In the hammer throw, Malone set a school record and a Top 10 NCAA Division III mark, winning the event at 51.64m. She also took second in the shot put (12.64m) and seventh in the discus (36.62m).
Also posting a strong day in the throws was
Lauren Burish, placing seventh in the hammer with a personal best (40.37m) and eighth in the discus (36.61m). In the pole vault,
Brittany Holst tied for fourth at 3.15m.
On the track,
Nicole Millard continued to build off her past success, placing 11th with a season-best mark in the 100m (13.00s) and 13th with a lifetime-best mark in the 200m (27.26s). In the 400m,
Natalie Kocks placed sixth at 1:03.05. Also,
Julie Carroll placed fifth in the 3000m (11:18.86).
Benedictine is back in action on Friday at the Benedictine University Twilight Invite. The event begins at 3:00 p.m.
