AURORA, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's lacrosse team finished the road portion of the schedule with a 17-11 loss at Aurora University.
Aurora took command of the game early, scoring the first three goals. The Spartans led 5-1 before the Eagles struck for three in a row.
Becca Gullett, the MWLC Offensive Player of the Week, scored her 28th of the year. The goal came with 13:08 to play in the first half.

Jasmine Montgomery followed with goals to bring Benedictine within 5-4. Gullett and Montgomery scored again late in the half to tie the score. Aurora scored with 3:46 left in the half to take a 7-6 lead into the break.
The host Spartans, sitting in second place in the conference, tallied the first four goals of the second half to open an 11-6 advantage. Consecutive goals from Gullett just seconds apart near the halfway point of the half brought Benedictine within 12-10, but the Eagles could get no closer as Aurora scored five straight to pull away.
Both teams registered 24 shots and 19 groundballs. Four of the Benedictine goals came on free position attempts.
Hannah Smith recorded a pair of saves in goal. Gullett scored five times with Link adding four. Gullett led all players with 10 groundballs and added eight draw controls to go with seven caused turnovers.Â
