MEQUON, Wis. - Making their first ever appearance in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Tournament, the Benedictine University women's lacrosse team dropped a 23-3 contest to the regular season champions, Concordia Wisconsin.
Three different individuals scored for Benedictine, who managed just eight shots in the defeat. Concordia Wisconsin built a 9-0 lead before the first goal came from
Nikki Gullett on a pass from
Becca Gullett with 7:58 remaining in the first half. The hosts led 15-1 at the break and extended the lead to 19-1 midway through the second.
Samantha Link scored unassisted with 12:03 left while the final goal came from
Jasmine Moreno on a free position attempt just before the game came to a close.
Hannah Smith stopped seven shots in goal and led the team with four groundballs. Link notched four shots. Benedictine finished the year with a record of 4-13. The Eagles won three of the final five games of the season.
