RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Benedictine University baseball team will head into the NACC Tournament as the fifth seed after dropping a pair of games to Concordia Chicago on the road Saturday.
Concordia Chicago busted open a 1-1 game in the bottom of the third in the opener, scoring four times to win 12-2 in seven innings during the opener. 
Kyle Bock singled home 
Tim Hendricks in the top of the third to even the game. The hosts pulled away with four runs in the sixth and walked off in the seventh. 
Christopher Jordan took the loss after allowing five runs in three innings.
Game two saw Benedictine allow Concordia Chicago to score five times in the ninth to grab the win by a 7-6 score. The Eagles grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second inning. After loading the bases, 
D.J. Dillon drove home a run with a groundout and 
T.J. Floyd lifted a sacrifice fly. 
Nick Johnson singled home a run and came around on a wild pitch in the sixth to extend the lead to 4-1.
Benedictine tacked on single runs in the seventh and ninth to open a 6-2 lead. Bock singled home a run in the sixth with 
Matthew Higgs adding a run-scoring single in the ninth. Concordia plated five runs in the bottom of the ninth to post the win. The tying and winning runs both came across on bases loaded hit batters.
Cody Netzel allowed just one run in 4.1 innings but did not factor in the decision. 
Mike Irgang worked four innings in relief, but 
Dylan Smith suffered the loss. 
Mike Ostrowski finished with three hits in the contest. Higgs, Bock, 
Quinn Heiner, and 
Andrew Hotze each picked up a pair as Benedictine finished with 13.
Benedictine (17-22, 11-9 NACC) will face co-champion Marian University in the opening round on Thursday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
