LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University men's soccer team tallied a second consecutive victory by toppling St. Olaf 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Miguel Sanchez wasted little time in handing Benedictine an early 1-0 edge. Sanchez poked home the first goal in the 13th minute.
Nick Kapetanos scored twice in a five minute span in the second half to put the game out of reach.
The visitors held a 12-6 advantage in shots but
Steve Mack and the defense held for the first shutout victory of the season. Mack made five saves in net. Kapetanos posted three shots with
Gio Ovalle adding two. St. Olaf (1-3) won the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference last season and was predicted to finish second this year.
Benedictine (2-2) plays at UW-Whitewater on Sunday.
