ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's soccer team struck for a season high 10 goals in a romp at Rockford University on Saturday.
Daniela Nieto opened the scoring only five minutes into the contest, setting the tone with a shot from 10 yards out. Benedictine went on to score five goals in each half and accumulate 45 shots total. The defense did not allow a shot the entire match.
Danielle Melotte scored on a rebound in the 12th minute to continue the attack. Seven different individuals scored in the game.
Jackie Elzakhem netted back-to-back tallies just three minutes apart to put Benedictine in control.
Nieto finished with three goals in the contest on eight shots. Nieto also added an assist.
Sabie Ramirez and
Taylor Pokorny both notched a pair of assists.
Megan Anderson led the team with 10 shots total.
Amanda Lozada posted the shutout in net. 12 individuals recorded a shot in the contest.
Benedictine (3-4) hosts Concordia Chicago on Wednesday night.
