Box Score 2 ATLANTA, Ga. - The Benedictine University women's volleyball team opened the 2015 season with a pair of straight set wins at the Oglethorpe Tournament.
Benedictine opened the season with a near perfect showing against Wesleyan, winning 25-1, 25-2, and 25-10. The Eagles scored the first 20 points of the set after recording a sideout to open the match. The second set saw 24 consecutive points. 15 different individuals took to the court. Becki Whitmarsh led the way with eight kills while
Kara Epping added seven.
Alyssa O'Boyle tallied 10 aces.
The second contest saw another three-set decision over LaGrange, winning 25-11, 25-20, and 25-20.
Emily Chitwood pounded down 10 kills with Epping adding nine.
Kelcey Adams distributed 25 assists.
Erin Wiegand and Adams each totaled 10 digs to lead the defense.
Ashley Karsten posted five blocks.
Benedictine (2-0) continues play on Saturday with a single contest against the host institution.
