RIVER FOREST, Ill. - Six players scored in double figures as the fourth-ranked Benedictine University men's basketball team matched the school record for longest win streak with a road victory over Dominican to sweep the season series.

THE DETAILS
•
While Benedictine trailed just once early in the contest, the game was tight prior to a 11-2 run, which broke a 7-7 tie
• John Dodson opened the run at the 13:11 mark with a layup while Tim Reamer finished with a layup at 9:25, making the score 20-9
• The first half advantage extended to 19 points as Benedictine scored the final five of the opening frame with a three-pointer from Michael Blaszczyk and a layup from Luke Johnson
• Benedictine pushed the lead to 27 early in the second half with an 11-0 run opened by two free throws from Adam Reynolds and capped on a Johnson layup to make the score 55-8 with 13:00 to play
• Dominican made a fierce rally, pulling within 11 just past the halfway point of the second at 66-55 and drawing within 10 points at 73-63 with just 5:55 remaining
• Blaszczyk nailed a three-pointer to open a 16-0 which put the game away as Benedictine led 89-63 and finished with a total run of 18-4 to close out the victory
• Already owning the longest single season win streak, the victory matched a school record 17-game streak which stretched over two seasons from 1964-66

"We played unselfish basketball tonight to post a great win on the road," head coach Keith Bunkenburg said. "To win the conference you need to win on the road and this is a big week. I am proud of the effort."

After consecutive difficult shooting performances, Benedictine finished the contest at 56.9 percent
• Benedictine entered the contest third in the nation in field goal percentage
• Benedictine finished with a 45-30 advantage on the glass, scoring 15 second chance points and adding 58 points in the paint
• Blaszczyk paced Benedictine with 19 points, adding seven rebounds and four assists
• Reynolds tallied 17 with John Dodson contributing 15 points
• Tahron Harvey logged 12 points, eight boards, and seven assists while Reamer scored 11 off the bench
• Johnson logged another double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds while adding to the single season record for blocks with six and dishing five assists
• Benedictine notched 25 assists on 37 field goals
