MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Benedictine University women's basketball team relinquished the lead early in the second quarter and dropped a 51-42 contest at MSOE on Saturday.

• Falling behind by five points early, Benedictine closed the first quarter on an 8-0 run to open a 12-9 lead after the first

Venita Parsons opened the run with a jumper and
Jasma Williams capped it with a free throw
• D'Asia Williams scored on a layup with 8:23 left in the first half, making the score 16-11 in favor of Benedictine
• MSOE used a 7-2 run to knot the score with 7:11 remaining in the half
• With the score tied at 20-20, MSOE scored seven straight points to open a 27-22 lead and held a 29-24 edge at halftime
• Briana Hamilton knocked down a jumper at the start of the third, bringing Benedictine within three points, but the team pulled no closer the rest of the way
• Down eight points after three, a three-pointer from Parsons brought Benedictine within 40-36, but MSOE countered with a triple as well
STAT LEADERS
• MSOE scored 36 points in the paint in holding Benedictine to a season low scoring total during the contest, which featured three ties and two lead changes
• Benedictine held a 48-39 edge on the glass but shot just 30.2 percent for the contest
• Benedictine was just 2-for-13 from three-point range and only 8-for-19 from the free throw line
• Parsons finished with 11 points to lead Benedictine while Hamilton finished with 10
