LISLE, IL - The 14th-ranked Benedictine University men's basketball team opened the conference season by running away from visiting Rockford University.

• Benedictine led for 38:33 of the game
• Rockford scored on the opening trip up the floor before Benedictine ripped off 13 straight points to gain the advantage
• Michael Blaszczyk opened the run with a jumper and Matt Chaltin followed suit with a three-pointer
• Shawn Soelter capped the run with a three-pointer at the 15:02 mark
• Rockford clawed within a single point before a 14-0 run again put distance between the teams
• Kenny Bogus deposited a layup with 6:59 left in the half to make the score 31-16
• The lead reached 23 in the first half and Benedictine held a 48-30 edge at the break
• Benedictine was able to pull away early in the second, grabbing a 67-40 edge on a Blaszczyk layup with 13:45 to play
• Benedictine went on to lead by as many as 35 in cruising to the win, a 26th straight in NACC play

• 18 players saw the floor with 11 scoring as Benedictine tallied a season high point total
• Benedictine knocked down 13 three-pointers in the game with seven different individuals making at least one
• Benedictine shot 53.2 percent for the game including a 56.8 percent clip in the second half while holding a 40-37 edge on the glass
• The team accumulated 27 assists against only five turnovers and racked up 50 points in the paint along with 20 on the fastbreak
• Five players reached double figures
• Harvey tallied a double-double with 13 points and 10 assists, adding five boards, two blocks, and three steals
• Chaltin also finished with 13 while Brayden Olson came off the bench to score 12
• Eric Grygo tallied the first points of his collegiate career and finished with 11 total
• Bogus finished the five in double figures with 10
• Adam Reynolds finished just shy of a double-double with nine points and 13 boards
