MEQUON, Wis. - The Benedictine University baseball team saw the season end in extra innings at the hands of MSOE in the NACC Tournament.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine banged out 13 hits and rallied to force extra innings with a run in the eighth
• After allowing a pair of first inning runs, Benedictine struck for four unanswered to take the lead
• Chayancze Stirbis notched an RBI double in the second inning and scored moments later on a single from Brandon Gipson
• Stirbis put Benedictine ahead with an RBI single in the fourth following a leadoff double from Andrew Hotze
• A bunt single from Justin Montalvo scored Stirbis to make the score 4-2
• MSOE scored at least one run in each of the middle innings to take the lead once more
• Erik Callaghan recorded a pinch hit single in the eighth with one away before scoring on a single from Gipson
• MSOE, the fourth seed, netted the winning run with two outs in the 10th

STAT LEADERS
• Joe Palasiewicz started and allowed six runs (three earned) in 5.2 innings, walking two and striking out three
• Marty Maves took the loss, allowing just the single run in 2.2 frames
• Hotze, Stirbis and Gipson each amassed three hits
• Hotze scored three times while Gipson drove home three runs
• Montalvo tallied a pair of hits as the final four slots of the lineup accounted for all but one hit
