NAPERVILLE, IL - The Benedictine University men's soccer team broke a two-game road losing skid with a 1-0 blanking of North Central College on Wednesday night.

• Benedictine set the tone early, breaking through on a
Nick Kapetanos blast in the 28th minute on a feed from
Erik Stammer for the only goal of the game
• The defense allowed just a single shot in the opening 45 minutes
• The back line held strong in the final 45 to preserve the victory
• Antonio Marti-Polo denied a header attempt in the final 10 minutes to preserve the shutout, the second of the year

"I thought Antonio (Marti-Polo) and his back line did an excellent job tonight," head coach
Attila Schmidt said. "There were a lot of dangerous moments that they had to diffuse late in the game and it is a big reason why we were able to come out with a positive result."
