FROM THE COACH
"This was a great win for Benedictine men's soccer," head coach Attila Schmidt said. "Anytime you can start the young season with two home wins against programs that qualified for the NCAA Tournament last year you have to feel good about your efforts. The celebration has to be short lived and focus directed to out next opponent, Calvin, who is another program that moved deep into the NCAA Tournament."

STAT LEADERS
• Whitewater held a 19-9 advantage in shots including an 11-4 margin in the second half
• Both teams put six shots on target
• Kapetanos led Benedictine with six chances, sending four on goal as the only Benedictine player to accumulate more than one shot
• Marti-Polo stopped five shots between the pipes
• Benedictine held a 7-5 edge in corner kicks
