LISLE, IL - The 14th-ranked Benedictine University men's basketball team recorded a 34th consecutive NACC regular season win by hitting a season high 16 three-pointers in a home win over Concordia University Chicago.

THE DETAILS

The contest was back-and-forth early before Tahron Harvey opened a 6-0 spurt with a jumper at the 16:08 mark of the first, pushing the lead to 15-8 on a bucket from Zach Gorney with 14:17 remaining in the half
• Leading by six, Harvey ignited a 12-2 run with a three-pointer
• Michael Blaszczyk knocked down a three-pointer to extend the advantage to double figures at 24-14 with 12:50 to go in the opening half
• Benedictine made six of the first nine attempts from three-points range in the half
• The run finished on a triple from Brayden Olson, making the score 33-14 just before the halfway point of the first
• Concordia Chicago chipped the lead down to 41-32 with less than five minutes remaining in the first
• Adam Reynolds opened a 7-0 run with a layup as Benedictine moved ahead 48-32 nd led 58-41 at the half, scoring the most points in a half this season
• The visitors opened the second half with seven straight points, pulling within 58-48 before both teams used six-point runs
• The outside shooting began to heat up again midway through the second when Olson kicked off a 12-2 run with a three
• Matt Chaltin splashed home a three with 5:48 left to hand Benedictine a 94-71 advantage
• The lead would reach 30 in the final two minutes
• The 109 points marked a season high as Benedictine has tallied more than 80 in each of the last four games, all wins
• Benedictine led for over 37 minutes of the contest

• Benedictine also held a 44-28 advantage on the glass while dishing a season best 27 assists
• Five players scored in double figures for Benedictine led by 22 from Harvey, who posted 18 in the first half
• The senior added eight rebounds and seven assists and has notched seven games with 20+ points this year including three straight
• Reynolds finished with 21 and six rebounds with three blocks in a second consecutive 20+ performance
• Olson netted 17 off the bench, scoring 14 in the second half
• Olson connected on five threes
• Blaszczyk added 12 with eight boards and five assists while Chaltin finished with 13 including 11 in the second half

UP NEXT
Benedictine (11-3, 9-0 NACC) now owns a three-game lead over the rest of the conference and travels to Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday for the second meeting of the year. Benedictine picked up an 81-64 victory earlier this season at home.
