RIVER FOREST, IL - The Benedictine University women's basketball team moved to 6-0 in conference play by opening a busy week with a seventh consecutive victory.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine scored the first four points of the game on baskets from Georgia Alexakos and Andrea Fuoss
• Both teams struggled from the floor in the opening 10 minutes but a three from D'Asia Williams made the score 7-2 with 4:12 left
• Bennita Drain hit a free throw in the final 30 seconds of the opening quarter to extend the lead to seven at 11-4
• Dominican shot over 56 percent in the second quarter while limiting Benedictine to just two field goals
• The hosts grabbed the lead three minutes into the second with a three-pointer as part of a 9-0 run
• Dominican held a 21-9 edge in the quarter and built a 10-point lead with just over two minutes to go, holding a 27-20 halftime advantage
• Benedictine concluded the third with a 14-3 run, turning a nine-point deficit into a 36-34 lead
• A layup from Fuoss and a three from Venita Parsons provided Benedictine a 44-38 cushion with 7:26 to play
• Dominican pulled within 49-47 with 3:06 left but scored just two points the rest of the way
• Benedictine scored seven in a row to pull away

"A great road conference win," head coach Charlie Averkamp said. "We have been battling the injury bug and had some big performances from Roxanna Gaddis and Andrea Fuoss stepping up into bigger minute roles. Venita Parsons was huge in the second half."

• Benedictine made eight three-pointers in the game
• Benedictine overcame 22.2 percent shooting in the first half and finished the game at 32.7 percent after a 42.9 percent clip in the second
