MADISON, WI - The Benedictine University women's basketball team scored the first six points and led the entire way en route to a road victory over Edgewood.

• Alena Moro scored on an offensive rebound in the first minute of the game before consecutive baskets from
D'Asia Williams enabled Benedictine to open an early 6-0 lead
• Payton Sim connected on a three-pointer at the mid-point of the first quarter to extend the advantage to double digits at 13-2
• The three-pointer was part of a 9-0 run after the first basket from Edgewood, stretching the margin 15-2

Bennita Drain with 2:37 left in the first gave Benedictine the largest lead of the quarter at 17-3

Samantha Realford basket turned the momentum and Benedictine scored the final three points of the half to lead 35-20 at the break

"It is always tough to play a team fighting for their first win late in the season," head coach
Charlie Averkamp said. "I give credit to our team for competing and coming away with a good road win. Alena (Moro), D'Asia (Williams), and Bennita (Drain) owned the paint today."
