The Benedictine University men's volleyball team let a 2-0 lead slip away, falling to conference foe Wittenberg University in five sets on Friday night.

THE FINAL
Benedictine 2, Wittenberg 3 (25-20, 25-23, 21-25, 28-30, 10-15)

THE DETAILS
• Wittenberg took an early 3-0 lead but the Eagles rallied back to tie it at 13 in the first set
• A Sterling Glover kill gave BenU the lead and they never looked back, tallying 16 kills en route to a 25-20 win
• In the second set Benedictine once again trailed 3-0 but quickly tied it back up at four
• Both teams traded points until the Eagles took a 21-19 lead
• Wittenberg went on a 4-0 run to get ahead but a Lewis Stein kill tied it at 22
• John Mathews gave Benedictine the lead and an Elijah Medlock kill secured the 25-23 victory
• The third set saw both teams battle for points
• Tied at 20, the Tigers went on a 4-0 run to win 25-21
• Benedictine only tallied nine kills in the third set
• The Eagles led 18-15 until Wittenberg went on a 5-0 run to take the lead
• Benedictine would tie it at 28 but would end the set with two hitting errors
• In the fifth set the Tigers took an 8-5 lead and BenU could never catch up, falling 15-10
• Benedictine had 15 service errors in the match
