LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's lacrosse team overcame a slow start to knock off visiting Beloit College and break a two-game skid in a conference contest Wednesday night.

THE DETAILS
• Beloit got off to quick starts in each 30 minute half
• Madison Horan and
Lexie Orr scored around Beloit tallies to tie the score
• The visitors were able to open a 4-2 lead with back-to-back goals 10 minutes into the half
• Jackie Andrews posted an unassisted tally with 19:09 left in the half to open a string of five straight goals from Benedictine
• Andrews provided an assist on a
Becca Gullett goal to tie the game with 17:37 left and moments later Orr put Benedictine ahead for the first time
• Benedictine would not trail again
• Benedictine led by as many as four goals in the first half, but the momentum turned just before the break
• The visitors scored consecutive goals to close the half and struck for two quick goals in just over a minute to open the second and tie the score
• Gullett put Benedictine back in front with her 40th of the season at the 26:27 mark of the second
• Gullett scored again on a free position attempt with just over 20 minutes left and Benedictine would stretch the advantage out to four goals, hanging on for the decision
STAT LEADERS
• Emma Redfern played the entire game in net, making 10 saves
• Benedictine controlled all the stat categories, holding a 35-33 edge in shots, a 19-18 advantage in groundballs and an 18-10 lead in draw controls
• Benedictine finished 15-for-19 in clear attempts
• Gullett scored six times, caused three turnovers, scooped three groundballs and notched seven nine controls
• Horan tallied four goals with three assists and posted four groundballs
• Orr notched three goals on 10 shots
