LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University baseball team received some quality starting pitching in a doubleheader split with Lakeland to open the home schedule.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine created plenty of opportunities in the opener but left 12 on the bases in dropping a second straight one-run decision
• Benedictine had
baserunners in all but one inning
• Lakeland scored all three runs in the top of the fourth after Benedictine left the bases loaded in the third
• The runs came on just three hits, one of which was a bunt single, with a pair of walks sprinkled in
• Benedictine was able to respond with a run in the bottom of the frame

Kiser led off the inning with a single and scored on an error with the bases loaded as
Jimmy McLaughlin drove him home

Sam Kerr in the seventh, but Benedictine again left the bases loaded, squandering a chance to tie or take the lead
