FENTON, MO - The Benedictine University women's soccer team finished the opening weekend of play with a loss at Webster University.

Webster 2, Benedictine 1
• All the scoring in the contest happened in the opening 45 minutes of play
• Webster created back-to-back chances in the 10th minute but did not score
• Sammie Sarles had an opportunity in the 15th minute denied by the keeper
• The hosts created consecutive shots and opened the scoring in the 19th minute
• Benedictine quickly answered in the 22nd minute when
Abbie Graham found the back of the net, notching the first goal of the year
• Late in the first half Webster was able to score the deciding goal
• Two chances for Benedictine were stopped in the final five minutes and a last ditch effort from Graham missed right
• Webster held a 19-7 advantage in shots and a 9-0 margin in corner kicks
• Five of the shots were on net with two coming from
Katy Fredericksen, who entered as a reserve
• Cassidy Henson stopped six shots in goal

Benedictine (0-2) opens the home portion of the slate on Wednesday night against Illinois Wesleyan
