LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's basketball team suffered a second straight loss for the first time this season, struggling from the field in a home loss to Lakeland

• Benedictine led for most of the first quarter, grabbing a 3-0 lead from the outset

D'Asia Williams made the score 10-4 with 4:03 left in the opening quarter
• Lakeland finished with a 10-2 run to take a 14-12 advantage after the first
• Benedictine did not lead again the rest of the way
• The visitors extended the lead at the end of the first half, taking a 33-24 lead into the break
• Lakeland scored the first six points of the third to grab a 39-24 advantage
• Benedictine countered with a 10-0 run, opened with a three from
Venita Parsons, to pull within 39-34 on a free throw from
Georgia Alexakos at the 5:29 mark of the third
• Lakeland again extended the edge to double figures early in the fourth and went ahead by 13
• Benedictine fought within seven points on multiple occasions in the fourth quarter but could not overcome the deficit
• Benedictine shot just 30.1 percent in the game and was outrebounded 53-36
• Benedictine made only 4-of-26 three-point attempts
• Williams led all scorers with a game-high 16, adding seven rebounds
• Madisyn Fischer tacked on nine points along with five assists

Benedictine (12-5, 9-3 NACC) travels to Alverno on Wednesday night.
