Eagles Fly By Cougars

Benedictine University women's volleyball picked up another Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference win on Tuesday night, sweeping Concordia University Chicago in straight sets.

THE DETAILS
• Tied at three in the first set, Benedictine went on a 3-0 run off of the serve of Kristina Billie
• Concordia Chicago rallied back later in the set, going on a 5-0 run of their own to take a 10-7 lead
• The Eagles would tie it up at 16 and a Claudia Schmidt kill would give BenU a lead they would never relinquish, winning 25-20
• The Eagles held CUC to a -.091 hitting percentage in set one
• Alyssa O'Boyle gave BenU a second set lead, tallying eight straight points with two aces
• The Cougars went on a small run later in the set, but the Benedictine offense was too much, winning 25-16
• The Eagles had five aces and 10 kills in the set
• Set three was much of the same as BenU tallied 15 kills and three aces while holding CUC to just six kills and a .026 hitting percentage in the 25-16 win
