LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University men's basketball team held the top scoring offense in the conference over 25 points below average in scoring a home victory over Concordia Chicago on Saturday.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine trailed for most of the opening 10 minutes of play, falling behind 21-15 at the 11:29 mark
• The defense buckled down and did not allow any easy looks, allowing for a run of 18-0 to grab control
• The run opened with two Kyle Graebner free throws
• Graebner tied the game with a jumper at the 9:47 mark and Kenny Bogus scored in transition at 8:41 to put Benedictine ahead for good
• The run finished with a basket from Bogus with 5:23 remaining in the half
• Concordia Chicago scored with 5:04 left and then did not score again the rest of the half as a run of 5-0 ended the opening 20 minutes with Benedictine in front 40-23
• The visitors powered back out of the locker room, using a 9-0 run to claw within 45-36 at the 17:48 mark
• The lead continued to shrink as Concordia Chicago drew within 50-45 with 14:38 to go
• A 13-2 spurt spanning nearly five minutes enabled Benedictine to push the lead back out to 19 points at 72-52 on a three-point play from Graebner with 5:56 left
• The advantage reached as many as 25 points as Benedictine pulled away
• Concordia came into the game 19th nationally in scoring offense at 90.9 points per game

STAT LEADERS
• The defense held Concordia Chicago to just 32.9 percent from the floor and kept two of the top scorers in the conference below their season average
• Benedictine did a good job on the glass, holding a 53-38 edge in rebounds
• Eric Grygo led all scorers with 21 points, adding 12 rebounds
• Graebner knocked down three triples and finished with a career best 19 points
• Michael Johnson added 15 points, continuing his string of double-figure contests
• The starting lineup posted 72 points as 14 players saw time on the floor
• The win marked the 385th for head coach Keith Bunkenburg, matching Tony LaScala for the most wins in program history
