Men's Volleyball Knocked Off By MSOE

Despite taking a 2-0 lead over Milwaukee School of Engineering, the #10 Benedictine University men's volleyball team dropped a five-set Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match to the Raiders on Thursday night in the Dan and Ada Rice Center.

• The MSOE offense caught fire in the first set as they took an early lead
• Benedictine battled back to tie it at 21 and an Adriel Rivas kill gave BenU the lead as they went on to tally 11 kills for the 25-23 win
• In set two, the Eagles took a 5-2 lead after two Rivas kills and another from Zach Loeding
• Benedictine held the Raiders to just 10 kills and a .130 hitting percentage for the 25-20 win
• The Eagles trailed the entire third set as the MSOE offense came alive, collecting 14 kills with a .323 attack percentage for the 25-22 win
• In set four, BenU looked like they were cruising to a victory when they lead 20-12
• MSOE would score nine straight to take the lead before a Joe Lock kill tied it up
• The teams would trade points before MSOE ended the set on two straight points, winning 31-29 and forcing a fifth set
• The Raiders gained an early lead in the fifth but the Eagles tied it at nine
• MSOE went on a 3-0 run and never looked back, winning 15-12
• As a team, Benedictine tallied 53 kills for a .207 attack percentage while MSOE had 63 kills and hit .230
• Defensively, BenU had 51 digs and eight blocks while the Raiders had 52 digs and 11 blocks
