LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's lacrosse team rallied in the second half but fell short in a home conference contest with Loras on Saturday afternoon.

Loras 11, Benedictine 8
• Benedictine opened the game by scoring the first two goals
• Jasmine Moreno won the opening draw and
Madison Horan raced down to score her ninth goal of the season less than a minute into the game
• Emily Vellender made the score 2-0 with 25:29 remaining in the half
• Vellender scored following a groundball pickup from Moreno and a successful clear
• Loras responded by scoring the next eight goals to take an 8-2 advantage into halftime
• Maria Trevino opened the scoring in the second half on a free position attempt, drawing Benedictine within 8-3 with 27:32 to go
• The visitors tallied back-to-back goals less tha a minute apart to take the biggest lead of the day at 10-3
• Benedictine struck four five goals in a row to fight within 10-8
• Moreno opened the run with 21:51 to play following a turnover
• Lexie Orr scored the final two goals of the sequence, the last of which came with just under two minutes remaining
• Loras held a 39-18 advantage in shots and a 33-30 edge in groundballs
• Moreno, Orr and Horan all scored two goals
• Emma Redfern made 21 saves in goal, setting the single game record

Benedictine (2-3, 1-1 MWLC) hits the road to Florida next week and faces Clarkson on Wednesday
