Baseball Notches Fourth Straight on Trip

AUBURNDALE, FL - The Benedictine University baseball team finished the first cycle of games in Florida with a 4-1 record after rolling to a win over Centre on Monday.

• Playing as the visiting team, Benedictine set the tone from the opening hitter, scoring a pair of runs in the inning
• Jack Feeley led off the game with a double and scored on a double from the next hitter, Michael Chaffin
• Jonathan Hodo made the score 2-0 with an RBI groundout to score Chaffin
• The lead reached 4-0 with two runs in the fourth inning
• Tyler Woynerowski tripled home a run and Brandon Gipson added a sacrifice fly
• Two more runs scored in the fifth on a Jack Surin RBI double and an RBI single from Sam Kerr to extend the lead to 6-0
• Benedictine capped the scoring with two more runs in the seventh
• Jimmy McLaughlin singled with two outs and came around on a single from Surin
• Woynerwoski added an RBI single in the frame
• Centre, playing their 18th game of the season, scored a single run in the bottom of the eighth
• Benedictine has won four in a row on the trip

• Alexander Schramm made his first collegiate start and retired the first eight batters
• Schramm worked seven innings and allowed just six hits while striking out six to earn the win
• Cameron Paladines and Drake Berman each tossed an inning to close out the victory
• Benedictine banged out a season high 14 hits in the win
• Kerr and Surin notched three apiece
• McLaughlin and Woynerowski collected two each
