MONMOUTH, IL - The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team matched the single season record for wins by ending the regular season with a victory at Monmouth.

Benedictine 14, Monmouth 7
• Thomas Tillett tallied the first two goals of the game less than a minute apart
• Joe Spahn set up Tillett with the first goal following a clear at the 8:22 mark of the first
• Mateo Salceda won the ensuing faceoff and
Corbin Gett fed Tillett for the second goal with 8:05 left
• Leading 2-1, Tillett opened a string of six consecutive goals to put Benedictine in control
• Gett finished the run with 2:02 to play in the half, handing Benedictine an 8-1 lead
• Monmouth was able to pull within 10-6 after four consecutive goals early in the fourth, but
Nick Wood notched the final three goals of the game to put the contest out of reach
• Benedictine has won 11 games three times in program history
• Benedictine put together 40 shots while winning 19 faceoffs and finishing a perfect 19-for-19 on clear attempts
• Benedictine scooped up 37 groundballs
• Tillett scored four times with an assist while Wood struck five times and tacked on an assist
• Gett scored a goal to go with four assists as the senior closes in on becoming the first player in program history to amass 100 points
• David Blanco logged a goal and three helpers
• Sam Sanko stopped 14 shots in goal
• Salceda finished with 10 groundballs and 16 faceoff wins
• Nicholai Benavides caused three turnovers

Benedictine (11-6, 7-2 MLC) will return to the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Tournament on Wednesday at Concordia Wisconsin.
