WHEATON, IL - The Benedictine University men's soccer team opened a tough schedule to begin the season with a loss at Wheaton College on Friday night.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine created a pair of early chances, but
Lukasz Sulka had a shot denied and
Erik Stammer saw an attempt blocked
• Wheaton then turned the momentum, opening the scoring in the 12th minute
• The hosts maintained possession and built a 2-0 lead late in the half
• Sulka missed wide at the start of the second before Wheaton furthered the edge
• Benedictine managed just one shot on target and seven shots total, four of which came from Sulka
• 23 players saw the field for Benedictine in the defeat
• Shawn Chervets started in goal and stopped two shots
• Zach Albright played the final nine minutes
