Volleyball Falls in NACC Opener

The Benedictine University women's volleyball team opened Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play with a loss on the road at Dominican University.

• Dominican got out to an early first set lead
• Benedictine came within one after four straight points from Molly Stock
• The Stars extended their lead and despite BenU tallying 16 kills, the Stars won 25-20
• In set two, DU took an 11-4 lead
• The Dominican offense caught fire, tallying 19 kills and four aces for the 25-16 win
• With set three tied at five, DU went on a 10-2 run to take a commanding lead
• The Stars connected for 15 kills while the Eagles could only muster seven in the 25-15 third set victory
• As a team, Benedictine tallied 32 kills, hit .229, recorded 3 aces, 43 digs and 3 blocks
• Dominican hit .408 in the match with 48 kills, 9 aces, 45 digs and 4 blocks
