Volleyball Sweeps Mount St. Joseph

The #10 Benedictine University men's volleyball team continued non-conference play on Friday night, sweeping Mount St. Joseph University in straight sets.

DETAILS
• Benedictine took a 6-3 lead early in set one
• A block assist from Nick Malak and Kyle VanStedum put BenU up 13-10
• Mount St. Joseph went on a 4-0 run to come within one
• Several MSJ aces almost tied the score but a Malak kill ended the set for the 25-23 win
• The Eagles only tallied nine kills in the set and were aced three times
• In set two, John Davis gave the Eagles a 10-5 lead after five straight points and one ace
• Benedictine would go on to tally 14 kills in the 25-20 win
• The Lions led BenU early in the third set
• A Chase Olson kill put BenU ahead 12-11 and the Eagles never looked back, winning 19-14
• Benedictine tallied 26 kills, 36 digs and four blocks in the win
