LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University men's soccer team won a thrilling overtime match on homecoming against Edgewood College.

• Benedictine was able to set the pace of the contest early
• Aldreiron Smith opened the scoring in the 20th minute, breaking through on a feed from
Tomasz Kulak to find the back of the net
• Martin Jimenez-Estrada stopped back-to-back shots to follow, protecting the lead
• Edgewood received a red card in the 56th minute but still managed to score twice to grab a 2-1 lead down a man
• The first goal came just a minute after the card while the second came on a breakaway just two minutes later
• Benedictine tallied eight of the next nine shots but could not tie the contest
• A foul that resulted in a yellow card in the box set up a penalty kick for
Lukasz Sulka
• Sulka converted on the attempt to tie the game in the 77th minute
• A frantic final five minutes of regulation saw both teams with chances to win, but the contest headed to an extra session
