RIVER FOREST, IL - The Benedictine University women's soccer team went toe-to-toe with the defending conference champion on the road Wednesday afternoon.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine played a strong defensive game from the outset
• Cassidy Henson made an early save to keep the contest scoreless
• Benedictine did not manage a shot in the opening 45 minutes of play
• Henson made another save early in the second half and Benedictine was able to counter, creating a corner kick
• Abbie Graham netted the first goal of the game in the 53rd minute, putting Benedictine ahead on the first shot attempt of the contest
• The hosts quickly created chances and tied the game in the 61st minute
• Cali Carl posted an attempt in the 72nd minute but was unable to break the tie
• Dominican tallied the winning goal in the 87th minute after keeping the pressure late in the contest
• Dominican, the defending conference champs and preseason favorite, held a 24-2 edge in shots
• The match marked just the second decided by a single goal for Dominican (13-1, 8-0 NACC) this season
