Football Runs to 3-0 in NACC Play

MILWAUKEE, WI - The Benedictine University football team eclipsed the 2018 season win total by moving to 3-0 in the NACC with a 27-3 victory at Wisconsin Lutheran.

Wisconsin Lutheran scored the first points of the game on a field goal after utilizing 13 plays on their opening possession. Benedictine did not allow any further points and immediately answered with a 75-yard drive, mixing the pass and run. Kiandre Morris dove in from three yards out to give Benedictine a 7-3 edge with 2:20 left in the first.

Calvin Jordan intercepted a pass in the endzone to deny Wisconsin Lutheran's attempt to counter. With 1:39 remaining in the first half, Benedictine opened at their own five-yardline and moved all the way down the field to grab a 14-3 lead on a 15-yard pass from Tyler Jarnagin to Jaden West with just :14 to go in the half, capping a 12-play drive.

Benedictine kept the chains moving in the fourth, embarking on a 12-play drive that milked over six minutes off the clock, extending the lead to 20-3 on a one-yard run from Joshua Williams early in the fourth. The game-sealing score came after stopping Wisconsin Lutheran on fourth down. Chris Little scooted in from 26 yards away with under two minutes left, icing the win.

Joshua Williams logged a third consecutive 100-yard game, running the ball 32 times for 161 yards and a touchdown. Benedictine racked up 268 yards rushing in the game, averaging over five yards per carry. The offense totaled 425 yards while the defense held a second-straight opponent under 200 yards. Jalaan Owens led the defense with nine tackles.

The victory marked a third in a row as Benedictine surpassed the win total from the 2018 season.

Benedictine (4-2, 3-0 NACC) hosts Eureka at 3:30 p.m. next Saturday.
