LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's volleyball team sewed up a spot in the upcoming NACC Tournament with a thrilling five-set win over visiting Edgewood College at home on Saturday.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine led for much of the first set, but the score was consistently close as it was for much of the day
• A kill from
Taylor Dunwell made the score 17-14, but Edgewood tallied four straight to lead 18-17
• With the set even at 22-22, Edgewood tallied the final three points
• The visitors did not lead in the second set with Benedictine tallying the final four points, taking advantage of three errors to even the match
• A service error opened a string of six consecutive points for Benedictine in the third, taking a 10-6 lead
• Benedictine led 20-17, but Edgewood scored three straight to even the score
• Benedictine was able to hold off two set points, but Edgewood closed out the third with consecutive kills
• Benedictine scored the first four points of the fourth and held an 8-1 lead early, leading wire-to-wire to force the decisive set
• Hannah Griffith opened the fifth set with a kill and Benedictine led 3-1 early and found themselves leading 12-6
• The visitors would not go away, stroking five straight points to pull within 12-11
• Benedictine saw three straight match points denied as Edgewood came back to tie the score at 14-14
• Edgewood and Benedictine traded match points, surviving each time in a contest to determine the fate of the other
• Brooke Huizenga notched a kill to give Benedictine a sixth match point, which came to an end on an error
