Bunkenburg Nabs 400th Win as Men's Hoops Cruises Past Lakeland

LISLE, IL - Already the winningest coach in program history, Benedictine University head men's basketball coach Keith Bunkenburg seized the 400th win of his career on Saturday as the men's basketball team ran past Lakeland

Benedictine fell behind early, trailing 5-0 out of the gates
• The team continued to trail until a pair of free throws from Kyle Graebner with 16:07 to go in the first half
• Eric Grygo opened a 7-0 run with a layup as Benedictine took the lead for good on a three-pointer from Nick Kosich at the 14:13 mark of the first
• Grygo tallied four consecutive points to put Benedictine in front by double figures at 32-21 with 5:27 remaining in the first
• Mike Boatright splashed home a triple to kick off a 12-0 run as Benedictine began to shoot past Lakeland late in the first, opening a 48-29 lead in the final minute of the half
• Lakeland cut the lead down to 14 points five minutes into the second, but Benedictine was too much
• Kenny Bogus scored a transition layup to make the score 69-48 with 8:21 to go
• Three different players scored in a 7-0 run late as Benedictine opened an 84-54 edge with less than five minutes to go
• Benedictine has won five in a row and has held six consecutive opponents below their season scoring total
