Women's Hoops Sets Program Record for Wins

LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's basketball team capped the season with a record setting 21st victory over Concordia Wisconsin.

Benedictine built a big lead only to need to tighten up down the stretch to grab the win
• D'Asia Williams hit back-to-back three-pointers to open the game to put Benedictine ahead 6-0
• Benedictine did not trail in the game
• Allison Michalski completed a 6-0 run to put Benedictine in front by double figures at 12-2 halfway through the first
• MaKayli Vann made a jumper to hand Benedictine a 17-4 advantage with 3:19 left in the opening quarter
• Concordia Wisconsin rallied late and pulled within 19-12 at the end of the first
• Benedictine scored the first five points of the second quarter and led 36-24 at halftime
• Bennita Drain, one of the seniors, scored in the middle of baskets from Alex Fanning as part of a 6-0 run to open the third as Benedictine jumped ahead 42-24
• Michalski finished a three-point play with 6:32 remaining in the third to make the score 45-26
• The visitors ripped off 10 in a row and utilized a 19-2 run to close the third within 47-45
• Concordia Wisconsin tied the game to open the fourth before Benedictine received back-to-back baskets from Drain and Williams
• Claire Gibler knocked down a big three-pointer halfway through the quarter as Benedictine went ahead 54-49
• Fanning essentially ended any hopes of a comeback with a three up against the shot clock in the final minute, giving Benedictine a 64-55 lead before a 6-0 run to close the contest
• The team ended the season with a record of 21-4, setting a single season school record
• Benedictine tallied a perfect 12-0 record at home and has win 14 straight in the Rice Center
• D'Asia Williams, Casey Williams and Bennita Drain played their final collegiate game in the victory

Benedictine shot 41.2 percent from the floor and held a 48-34 edge on the glass, grabbing 19 offensive boards
• Williams finished her career with 18 points, adding eight rebounds and two blocks
• Michalski notched 16 with seven boards while Fanning tallied 13 to go with nine boards and four blocks
