CONWAY, AR - The Benedictine University baseball team completed the season opening trip to Arkansas with a one-run loss to the host, Hendrix College.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine fell behind 3-0 early in the game but came back to tie the score
• Hendrix hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the of the second to take a 2-0 edge and made it 3-0 with an RBI double in the fourth
• Benedictine scored three times in the fifth to tie the score
• Kyle Mitter opened the inning with a single up the middle and swiped second with one out
• Michael Chaffin drove home Mitter with a double to open the scoring in the frame
• Jack Surin and Tyler Woynerwoski walked with two outs to load the bases
• Jonathan Hodo capped the inning with a two-run single through the left side of the infield
• The deciding run scored on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth
STAT LEADERS
• Stephen Sewruk made his collegiate debut on the hill, working five innings and allowing three runs on seven hits with a pair of strikeouts
• Alexander Schram worked an inning in relief and
Matt Grubb suffered the loss after allowing one run in two innings with two strikeouts
• Nicholas Quick finished with a pair of hits in his first start of the season
• Six individuals posted hits in the contest as Benedictine totaled seven
• Chaffin drew three walks as Benedictine finished with seven walks in the contest
• Benedictine stranded 10 on base in the defeat
