LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team rallied from a deep early deficit but came up short at home against the preseason conference favorite, Concordia Wisconsin.

THE DETAILS
• Concordia Wisconsin scored twice in the first three minutes and jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter, holding Benedictine at bay
• Thomas Tillett netted the first Benedictine goal on a pass from
Anthony Leahy in the first minute of the second quarter
• Concordia Wisconsin, a senior laden team picked to win the conference, netted the nest three goals to move ahead 7-1 and led 8-2 with just over four minutes to go in the half
• Tillett found the net twice in the final three minutes to provide a spark headed to the break with Benedictine trailing 8-4
• Leahy scored in a man-up situation to help Benedictine begin the second half with a rally
• Leahy finished a run of three consecutive markers as Benedictine clawed within 9-7 at the 5:31 mark of the third
• The Concordia Wisconsin defense held strong and made the most of opportunities on the offensive end to finish out the decision

• Concordia Wisconsin held a 36-33 edge in shots with 20 on goal
• The visitors also converted on 21 clears and two man-up situations
• Benedictine held a 40-36 edge in groundballs while winning 14 faceoffs
• Tillett scored three times while Leahy and

• Tillett added two assists and picked up five groundballs
