First Quarter Slows Men's Lacrosse

AURORA, IL - The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team could not overcome a slow start in a conference loss to Aurora.

THE DETAILS
•
Aurora scored twice in the first three minutes of the opening quarter
• The hosts built a 6-0 lead after the first quarter
• Scott Ransom posted the first Benedictine goal at the beginning of the second quarter
• Aurora score the next two goals to open an 8-1 edge
• Ransom opened a string of four in a row as Benedictine battled to within 8-4 at halftime
• Mateo Salceda scored midway through the third as Benedictine was within 8-5
• Both teams traded goals the rest of the way as Benedictine could get no closer than three
• Anthony Leahy recorded the final goal for Benedictine with just 3:30 to go
