Eagles Swept at Aurora

The Benedictine University softball team could only muster seven hits in two games, dropping two games at Aurora University in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play.
 
GAME ONE FINAL
Benedictine 4, Aurora 9
 
THE DETAILS
• A homerun in the first inning put Aurora up 1-0
• Benedictine responded in the second inning after a Becky Roncone RBI single
• The Spartans tallied three runs in the second and another run in the third to take the lead
• In the sixth, Emily Moore singled to left followed by an Abbey Plutz single
• Kaitlyn Velazquez homered to come within one
• Aurora had a big sixth inning, scoring four more runs for the win

Alexandra Loizon: 4.1 innings pitched, 9 hits, 5 earned runs, 3 strikeouts
Ashley Fisher: 2-3

THE DETAILS
• Only two players tallied hits in game two: Velazquez and Taylor Skraba
• Both teams were scoreless through three innings until AU took the lead with a homerun
• The Spartans had a monster fifth inning, collecting six runs off of seven hits
• In the sixth, AU secured their win with one more run
