Softball Splits with Marian

The Benedictine University softball team tallied 12 hits in a first game shutout against Marian University. The Eagles would fall in game two, 11-3.
 
GAME ONE FINAL

THE DETAILS
• Taylor Skraba and Megan Fast tallied hits to lead off the first inning
• After an Abbey Plutz walk, Asia Robinette drove in the first run of the inning, followed by a Kaitlyn Velazquez two-run single to left field
• Up 3-0, BenU tallied another run in the second after an Emily Moore RBI single
• The scoring didn't stop there – Robinette singled to center to lead off the third and scored on a Faith Chada single
• Skraba and Fast both tallied RBI singles to give BenU a 7-0 lead
• The Eagles collected one more run in the fifth for the 8-0 win

THE DETAILS
• The Marian offense wasted no time in game two, scoring a pair of runs in the firs tinning
• Back-to-back homers in the third put the Sabres up 5-0
• After two more runs in the fourth for MU, Benedictine finally got on the board, scoring three runs off of five hits
• Skraba and Fast both singled and Ashley Fisher drove in a run
• A Plutz double scored the final two runs of the inning
• The scoring ended there for the Eagles and Marian tallied three runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh for the 11-3 win
