Women's Lacrosse Edged in Season Finale

LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's lacrosse team ended the season with a nail-biting loss to visiting Cornell College.

THE DETAILS

Victoria House opened the scoring in a nip and tuck contest with 25:45 remaining in the first half
• Cornell responded by scoring the next three goals to take a 3-1 advantage
• Benedictine answered by netting the next three to take the lead at 4-3 on a goal from Madison Horan with 18:49 to go in the first half
• Cornell re-took the lead with two more goals before Samantha Tikalsky tied the game with 13:49 to play
• The visitors led 8-6 at the half
• Lexie Orr began the second half with a goal at the 27:13 mark as Benedictine drew within 8-7
• Cornell was able to lead by four on two occasions at 11-7 and 12-8
• Benedictine began a late rally when House scored with 9:50 left in the game
• The tally marked the first of five in a row as Benedictine grabbed the lead
• Redfern and Kaylee Garcia scored to pull Benedictine within 12-11 before Orr tied the game with 4:09 left
• House gave Benedictine the lead at 13-12 with just over two minutes to play
• Cornell tied the game on a free position attempt with just over a minute to play, followed by winning the draw and scored the game-winner moments later
• The game was a makeup from a snow-out on April 14

• Orr scored three times and added an assist while picking up four groundballs
