LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's volleyball team won a fourth in a row, opening the home and conference slate with a four-set win over visiting Dominican University, who was picked to finish third in the preseason poll.

THE DETAILS
• Molly Stock opened a stretch of three straight points with a kill in the opening set as Benedictine led 6-4
• Benedictine hit .444 in the set but had to withstand a late Dominican surge
• Stock was part of a four-point run later as Benedictine led 13-8
• Benedictine led by as many as six before Dominican stormed back with five consecutive points late, drawing within 21-20
• Dominican jumped ahead 23-22 with three straight points, but three in a row from Benedictine ended the first
• The second was equally as close with Benedictine opening leads of 17-11 and 19-12 before another late surge, taking advantage of back-to-back errors with the match tied at 23 to close out the win
• Benedictine scored the first two points of the third but Dominican surged to leads of 11-4 and 18-10
• Neither team was able to lead by more than two points in the fourth
• Dominican survived a first match point, but a
Hannah Griffith kill and ace ended the contest
• Benedictine hit .285 for the match
• The win marked the first over Dominican since 2012, a string of eight matches
